513. Laura Catherine⁸ VAN GUNDY (Robert Elmer⁷, Daniel William⁶, John⁵, David Jr⁴, David Sr³, Peter Sr², Male¹) was born in Salem, Marion Co, IL December 14, 1913. Laura died August 21, 1998 in Effingham, Effingham Co, IL, at 84 years of age.

She married Henry Everett YOUNG in Tuscola, Douglas Co, IL, May 28, 1932. Henry was born in Caneyville, KY May 21, 1900. Henry died May 19, 1971 in Mattoon, Coles Co, IL, at home, at 70 years of age. His body was interred in Pleasant Grove Cem, Cooks Mills, Coles Co, IL. At 32 years of age Henry became the father of Bonnie Darlene YOUNG in Mattoon, Coles Co, IL, August 10, 1932. Everett was a brother to Emmett Nethal Young, who married Agnes Van Gundy, sister of Everett's second wife, Laura. That is, brothers married sisters. Everett retired from the Railway Express Agency in 1962 after 18 years.

At 18 years of age Laura became the mother of Bonnie Darlene YOUNG in Mattoon, Coles Co, IL, August 10, 1932. Laura was named for her Grandmother Van Gundy and perhaps even her great aunt, Laura Van Gundy. She worked at the General Electric Plant in Mattoon for years before her retirement.
