6. John Sr³ VAN GUNDY (Peter Sr², Male¹) was born in Lancaster Co, PA, probably 1740. John died August 8, 1806 in Earl Twp, Lancaster Co, PA, at 66 years of age.

He married Anna (VAN GUNDY) before 1763. Anna became the mother of John Jr VAN GUNDY about 1765. Anna became the mother of Barbara VAN GUNDY August 20, 1766.

John became the father of John Jr VAN GUNDY about 1765. At 26 years of age John became the father of Barbara VAN GUNDY August 20, 1766. Residences & events in his life: 1763 Earl Twp, Lancaster Co, PA. Upon the death of his parents, he and wife, Anna, petitioned the court to sell their land and divide the proceeds. See note on his father for details. 1768 John's land was used as a marker, along with that of John Davis and Zaccheus Davis, to describe property involved in a land transfer. 1779 & 1780 Earl Twp, Lancaster Co, PA. At tax time he was the only "Gundy" in the county. 1790 Lancaster Co, PA. Living with John at census time were 3 females. 1800 John was still the only Gundy in the county, it seems he was the only sibling to stay behind while the others moved west.

John Sr VAN GUNDY and Anna (VAN GUNDY) had the following children:

20 i. John Jr⁴ VAN GUNDY was born about 1765. John died before 1806.

+ 21 ii. Barbara VAN GUNDY was born August 20, 1766.
