27. Barbara⁴ VAN GUNDY (Christian Sr³, Peter Sr², Male¹) was born in PA September 21, 1773. Barbara died September 23, 1841 in Ross Co, OH, at 68 years of age. Her body was interred in Ross Co, OH.

She married George Jr MAY about 1790. George was born October 31, 1760. George died December 19, 1849 in Ross Co, OH, at 89 years of age. His body was interred in White Church Cem, Ross Co, OH. At 30 years of age George became the father of Samuel MAY March 3, 1791. At 31 years of age George became the father of John MAY September 18, 1792. George became the father of George MAY about 1794. At 35 years of age George became the father of Jacob MAY September 28, 1796. At 41 years of age George became the father of Mary "Polly" MAY in PA, August 12, 1802. At 43 years of age George became the father of Barbara MAY 1804. At 46 years of age George became the father of Francis MAY 1807. At 54 years of age George became the father of Sarah MAY 1815. At 56 years of age George became the father of Elizabeth MAY 1817. Residences: 1790 Northumberland Co, PA. At census time, his household consisted of himself, 1 male under 16, and 2 females. This was probably George's first family. 1802 Ross Co, OH, where at least one child was born. 1/9/1811 Chillicothe, Ross Co, OH. In the Scioto Gazette was an article where Jesse Spencer, Register of the Land Office, regarding land for sale, mentioned George and John Van Gundy. 2/1816 George and Michael Gundy appraised a horse found by Jacob Frederick, of Green Twp, Ross Co, according to another Gazette item.

At 17 years of age Barbara became the mother of Samuel MAY March 3, 1791. At 18 years of age Barbara became the mother of John MAY September 18, 1792. Barbara became the mother of George MAY about 1794. At 23 years of age Barbara became the mother of Jacob MAY September 28, 1796. At 28 years of age Barbara became the mother of Mary "Polly" MAY in PA, August 12, 1802. At 30 years of age Barbara became the mother of Barbara MAY 1804. At 33 years of age Barbara became the mother of Francis MAY 1807. At 41 years of age Barbara became the mother of Sarah MAY 1815. At 43 years of age Barbara became the mother of Elizabeth MAY 1817.

Barbara VAN GUNDY and George Jr MAY had the following children:

123 i. Christopher⁵ MAY. Christopher died before 1850.

124 ii. Samuel MAY was born March 3, 1791. Samuel died October 2, 1867 at 76 years of age.

125 iii. John MAY was born September 18, 1792. John died December 9, 1862 at 70 years of age.

126 iv. George MAY was born about 1794. George died October 14, 1827 at 33 years of age. He married Elizabeth "Betsey" VAN GUNDY. Elizabeth was born March 31, 1805. Elizabeth was the daughter of Samuel VAN GUNDY and Margaret Overly.

127 v. Jacob MAY was born September 28, 1796. Jacob died October 6, 1823 at 27 years of age.

128 vi. Mary "Polly" MAY was born in PA August 12, 1802. Mary died October 6, 1867 in Ross Co, OH, at 65 years of age. Her body was interred in Bethel Cem, Ross Co, OH. She married William H Barnhart, a gunsmith, and had 8 children.

129 vii. Barbara MAY was born 1804. Barbara died March 11, 1876 at 71 years of age.

130 viii. Francis MAY was born 1807. Francis died November 18, 1867 at 60 years of age.

131 ix. Sarah MAY was born 1815.

132 x. Elizabeth MAY was born 1817. Elizabeth died 1837 at 20 years of age.
