He married Darcus Lavina BAKER in Ross Co, OH, by Robert Bishop, JP, December 10, 1835. Darcus was born in Ross Co, OH February 12, 1819. Darcus died March 27, 1893 in Ross Co, OH, at 74 years of age. At 17 years of age Darcus became the mother of Catherine VAN GUNDY January 14, 1837. At 21 years of age Darcus became the mother of Valentine VAN GUNDY in Ross Co, OH, February 14, 1840. At 22 years of age Darcus became the mother of Jacob VAN GUNDY May 5, 1841. At 24 years of age Darcus became the mother of Henry A VAN GUNDY August 5, 1843. At 27 years of age Darcus became the mother of Shephard VAN GUNDY 1846. At 30 years of age Darcus became the mother of Lavina VAN GUNDY April 15, 1849. At 34 years of age Darcus became the mother of Mary Ann VAN GUNDY 1853. At 35 years of age Darcus became the mother of Hiram VAN GUNDY January 1, 1855. At 49 years of age Darcus became the mother of Ephraim VAN GUNDY October 4, 1868.

At 33 years of age Jacob became the father of Catherine VAN GUNDY January 14, 1837. At 36 years of age Jacob became the father of Valentine VAN GUNDY in Ross Co, OH, February 14, 1840. At 37 years of age Jacob became the father of Jacob VAN GUNDY May 5, 1841. At 39 years of age Jacob became the father of Henry A VAN GUNDY August 5, 1843. At 42 years of age Jacob became the father of Shephard VAN GUNDY 1846. At 45 years of age Jacob became the father of Lavina VAN GUNDY April 15, 1849. At 49 years of age Jacob became the father of Mary Ann VAN GUNDY 1853. At 50 years of age Jacob became the father of Hiram VAN GUNDY January 1, 1855. At 64 years of age Jacob became the father of Ephraim VAN GUNDY October 4, 1868. He was counted among the first families of Ohio along with his father and grandfather. He and Darcus had 9 children.

274 i. Catherine⁶ VAN GUNDY was born January 14, 1837. Catherine died June 9, 1919 at 82 years of age. She married Ephraim Johnson. Catherine and Ephraim had 10 children.

276 iii. Jacob VAN GUNDY was born May 5, 1841. Jacob died September 2, 1882 at 41 years of age. He married Rebecca Jane Davis March 16, 1867. Rebecca was born December 10, 1850. Rebecca died April 2, 1894 at 43 years of age. Jacob and Rebecca had 5 children.

277 iv. Henry A VAN GUNDY was born August 5, 1843. Henry died July 21, 1922 at 78 years of age. He married twice. He married Lucy Jane Mick March 10, 1863. Lucy was born August 5, 1843. Lucy died March 2, 1878 at 34 years of age. He married Millie Wilson November 29, 1885. Millie was born June 30, 1850. Millie died August 15, 1918 at 68 years of age. He had 6 children by the first wife, 3 by the second.

278 v. Shephard VAN GUNDY was born 1846. Shephard died March 21, 1905 at 58 years of age. He married twice. He married Rebecca Jane Davis March 17, 1884. Rebecca was born December 10, 1850. Rebecca died April 2, 1894 at 43 years of age. He married Sarah F Landman April 25, 1897. Sarah was born June 10, 1850.

279 vi. Lavina VAN GUNDY was born April 15, 1849. She married Austin Bogard July 3, 1869. Austin was born April 14, 1850. Austin died May 24, 1897 at 47 years of age. Lavina married Austin Bogard and they had 15 children.

280 vii. Mary Ann VAN GUNDY was born 1853. She married William Marion November 4, 1874. Her husband's name was William Marion.

281 viii. Hiram VAN GUNDY was born January 1, 1855. Hiram died May 9, 1937 at 82 years of age. He married Julia McGowan October 15, 1884. He and Julia had 3 children.

282 ix. Ephraim VAN GUNDY was born October 4, 1868. Ephraim died November 1, 1880 at 12 years of age. He never married.
