He married Mary Ann Parrott in Fountain Co, IN, April 13, 1854. Mary was born May 27, 1833. At 35 years of age Mary became the mother of Frank Blair VAN GUNDY in Jasper Co, MO, June 27, 1868.

At 42 years of age Samuel became the father of Frank Blair VAN GUNDY in Jasper Co, MO, June 27, 1868.

Samuel VAN GUNDY and Mary Ann Parrott had the following child:
