14. Catherine⁴ VAN GUNDY (Capt Joseph Sr *³ Van Gundy, David² VAN GUNDY, Male¹) was born in Stumpstown, Lancaster Co, PA December 13, 1767. Catherine died April 21, 1855 in Harrisburg, PA, at 87 years of age.

She married Casper Shrom March 5, 1789. Casper was born May 29, 1768. Casper died November 23, 1844 in Harrisburg, PA, at 76 years of age. At 27 years of age Casper became the father of Catherine Shrom in York, PA, February 15, 1796. Residences & events in his life: 12/27/1835 Harrisburg, PA. He was confirmed at the Salem Reformed Church and received communion for the first time on this date. 7/25/1841 Casper & Catharine communed together at the same church. 12/5/1841 They were again among the communicants, according to church records.

At 28 years of age Catherine became the mother of Catherine Shrom in York, PA, February 15, 1796. She signed a deposition verifying her brother, Jacob, served in the Am Rev, for his pension application.

Catherine VAN GUNDY and Casper Shrom had the following children:

86 i. Henry⁵ Shrom.

87 ii. Jacob Shrom.

88 iii. Sarah Smith Shrom. Sarah and sister, Catherine, both married George Beatty. Sarah was his second wife.

89 iv. Henry Shrom.

90 v. Elizabeth Shrom.

91 vi. Catherine Shrom.

+ 92 vii. Catherine Shrom was born February 15, 1796.
