He married Jean Alden Scheller May 29, 1954. Jean was born December 26, 1927. At 29 years of age Jean became the mother of Betsy Cain September 23, 1957. At 31 years of age Jean became the mother of Patrick Wilmot Cain October 8, 1959. At 33 years of age Jean became the mother of Mathew Wilmot Cain October 11, 1961.

At 28 years of age Robert became the father of Betsy Cain September 23, 1957. At 30 years of age Robert became the father of Patrick Wilmot Cain October 8, 1959. At 32 years of age Robert became the father of Mathew Wilmot Cain October 11, 1961.

Robert Warren Cain and Jean Alden Scheller had the following children:
