248. William⁶ VAN GUNDY (Jacob⁵, Jacob⁴, Capt Joseph Sr *³ Van Gundy, David² VAN GUNDY, Male¹) was born in Franklin Co, OH May 7, 1833. William died May 6, 1921 in Roselawn, IN, at 87 years of age.

He married Sarah Ann Kight in Memphis, MO, April 22, 1855. Sarah was born in Myers Mill, IL, near Rossville November 26, 1838. Sarah died July 29, 1925 at 86 years of age. At 17 years of age Sarah became the mother of Anna VAN GUNDY October 14, 1856. At 20 years of age Sarah became the mother of Olive VAN GUNDY August 16, 1859. At 21 years of age Sarah became the mother of Charles VAN GUNDY July 27, 1860. At 23 years of age Sarah became the mother of Clara VAN GUNDY July 12, 1862. At 36 years of age Sarah became the mother of Reuben VAN GUNDY February 26, 1875. At 43 years of age Sarah became the mother of Thomas VAN GUNDY 1882. At 45 years of age Sarah became the mother of Stella VAN GUNDY July 26, 1884.

At 23 years of age William became the father of Anna VAN GUNDY October 14, 1856. At 26 years of age William became the father of Olive VAN GUNDY August 16, 1859. At 27 years of age William became the father of Charles VAN GUNDY July 27, 1860. At 29 years of age William became the father of Clara VAN GUNDY July 12, 1862. At 41 years of age William became the father of Reuben VAN GUNDY February 26, 1875. At 49 years of age William became the father of Thomas VAN GUNDY 1882. At 51 years of age William became the father of Stella VAN GUNDY July 26, 1884.

William VAN GUNDY and Sarah Ann Kight had the following children:

402 i. Milton⁷ VAN GUNDY.

403 ii. Nettie VAN GUNDY. Nettie died in infancy.

404 iii. Anna VAN GUNDY was born October 14, 1856. She married Henry Cobb at Thayer, IN.

405 iv. Olive VAN GUNDY was born August 16, 1859. Olive died September 1, 1860 at 1 year of age.

406 v. Charles VAN GUNDY was born July 27, 1860. Charles died October 20, 1948 at 88 years of age.

407 vi. Clara VAN GUNDY was born July 12, 1862. Clara died 1939 at 76 years of age. Henry William Smith was Clara's husband.

408 vii. Reuben VAN GUNDY was born February 26, 1875. Reuben died January 28, 1939 at 63 years of age. His body was interred in Momence, Kankakee Co, IL.

409 viii. Thomas VAN GUNDY was born 1882. Thomas died January 25, 1939 at 56 years of age. He never married.

410 ix. Stella VAN GUNDY was born July 26, 1884. Stella died January 21, 1944 at 59 years of age. She married Henry DeFries at Thayer, IN.
