Notes for Daniel Albert I CRUM


Residences & events:

8/8/1850 Vienna Twp, Scott Co, IN was where the census taker found him and Mary Ann as 19 year old newlyweds. He was a farmer with real estate worth $125. They lived in a row of Crum families, including sister Sarah and William McGuire (Mary Ann's brother) who were next door.

7/24/1860 S Okaw Twp, PO Mattoon, Coles Co, IL. By the next census the couple had moved west with relatives and had two children. Daniel and Mary A were both 29 years old and the children were Mary A, 7, and Eliza J, 4. Also counted there was Solomon Perew, 15, farm laborer. Daniel was a farmer with property worth $1500/600. H H Crum lived a few door down the road, probably a brother.

CRUM, Daniel A 1st Lt. Fuller's Point Oct 25, 1862 Resigned Jun 13, 1863

1873 Cooks Mill, Coles Co, IL. He bought the general store from Elam Cook.
