1/21/1920 Mattoon Ward 7, Coles Co, IL. At census time the newlyweds lived alone in a rented house between the families of John Chaplin and Robert Ballard. He was 19 years old with the occupation of laborer on the railroad. "Greeta" M was only 16.
4/1930 Same place. In the census that year he was 30, married at 20 to Greta M, 26, who was 16 at the time. They lived in a rented house with children Warren H, 9, and Dorothy E, 7. He was a laborer on a general farm. They lived between David Bareither and Roy Brotherton with his parents two doors down.
