In the household were Helen, 12, Fred, 11, Georgia, 9, Lily, 7, Raymond, 3 and hired man, Frank Osborne, 18. Aaron worked as a general farmer but he was employed.
1918 Mattoon, Lafayette Co, Coles Co, IL. According to the county farmer census he was a tenant farmer of 316 acres in S7 owned by L Geinger. He had been a county resident since 1873 and he and Cora had 5 children at that time. He and brother George were the only Arthurs listed.
2/2/1920 Same place. That year "Arron" was 49, had married at 20, to "Corrie", 45. Only son Raymond, 12, was at home. Aaron was a general farmer, Five doors down was the family of John Daily, in-laws of son, George.
4/1930 Mattoon, Coles Co, IL. The census taker that year recorded his name as Arron, he and Cora were both 58 years old, had married at 20, and his occupation was general farmer. They owned their house which was valued at $2000. Living with them was a Viola Younger, 50, servant, even though she was married. Living on either side were Roy Brotherton and Frank Bates. Son George lived 2 doors down.
