Cassius M "Cash" POWELL
His name was recorded as Charlie M, 9, in the 1870 census.
His obituary said he was a member of a prominent Sullivan family.
Residences & events in his life:
1880 Sullivan, Moultrie Co, IL, the residence for of his life, he was still living at home and, in the census, was listed as a clerk in a grocery store.
Cash was a farmer for 40 years and was also active in the public affairs of Sullivan.
1900 In the census, He, at age 39, had no occupation at census time. He and "Welthy" with Pearl lived next door to the Wilford Hoke family which included Cash's mother.
1907 He retired per his obituary which said he had been retired for 35 years but it may have actually been longer as noted by the 1900 census.
He was the last of his parents' family of 8 children to die and he had
been ill for several years.
The funeral for Cash was held at the McMullin Funeral Home on Tuesday
afternoon at 2:30 PM.
His residence was recorded in the Powell family reunion roster of 1923.
