Also counted there was 77 year old Christian Barker (Baker?) A Henry Baker lived 2 doors down.
6/21/1860 Same place, PO Chillicothe. The census recorded Jacob as 53 years old with the occupation of farmer whose property totaled $861/200. Dorcas L was 48 and living with them were children: Catherine, 22, Jacob, 19, Shephard, 13, Mary A, 7, Hiram, 4, and Ephraim, 1.
7/9/1870 Same residence. Jacob, 63, was a farm laborer even though he owned the farm worth $600. "Darkes" L, 53, kept the house and children in the household were Mary A, 17, helps mother; Hiram, 13, and Ephraim, 10, both farm laborers too. Son Jacob was next door.
1880 Still there. That year at census time Jacob, 74, was still farming. His wife's full name was recorded as Darkus Luvina, 60, and still at home were Shepard, 33, and Harmen, 24. The boys were both laborers and probably helped their father with the farm.
