1870 Jonathan Creek Twp, Moultrie Co, IL. At census time his age was recorded as 50 when it was actually 54. He was a farmer with personal property of $500 and living in his house were Mariah, 50, George, 19, Sampson, 17, and Eliza J Miller, 30, without occupation. Eliza was verified as sister-in-law of Salathiel Miller in probate records for her first husband, William Campbell, and so was probably the sister of Salathiel's wife, Margaret Davidson. Salathiel and Margaret lived next door with a John Webb, 24, living with them as a farm hand.
9/6/1871 He paid a school tax for his property at T14 R6 which he must have bought within the past year because in 1870 he had told the census taker he had no real estate.

Relatives at GenForum say his death certificate recorded his birth place as Mexico, Ralls Co, MO but that conflicts with census records which say KY.
