1918 Humboldt, N Okaw Twp, Coles Co, IL was his residence on 80 acres in S3 according to the county farmer listing. Included were the names of his wife and children: Lafe, James, Almida, Gertrude, Stanley, Eber, Glen, Oscar, Rose, Alvin, and Louisa.
1/13/1920 Same residence. The census that year recorded him at age 49, still a farmer. Wife Jennie was 48 and they had children: James W, 24; Media, 22; Stanley L, 17; Jesse, 15; (unreadable but ends in "cor" and was probably Oscar), 14; Rosa, 12; Alvin, 10; and Louisa P, 8. Next door was daughter Gertrude Young and on the other side was brother William.
4/19/1930 Whitley Twp, Moultrie Co, IL. When and why the family moved is unknown but the census taker found them there that year. Lewis E was 59, a general farmer, wife Mary J was 57, and they had 3 children at home: Rosa, 22, Alvin, 20, and Lewis G, 19. Son Glen lived next door with the family of Jesse, followed by Roscoe Daily, 42.
The 1870 census taken in August, said he was 1 month old. The 1900 census recorded his birth date as 4/1872 and his age at 28 and another 1900 census says he was born 10/1865.
