10/14/1850 St Clair Co, Dist 79, MO. The couple must have moved shortly after marriage with Nancy's cousin John R Whitley who lived next door at census time. Daniel was 30, a farmer, Nancy was 21 and their only child was son Josiah, 1 yr 10 mo.
7/24/1860 S Okaw Twp, PO Mattoon, Coles Co, IL. Daniel, 44, was listed in the census as a farm laborer with personal property = $300 in the census. Nancy was 35 and living with them were 4 children: James, 14, Eliza J, 8, John, 6, and Margaret, 2. They lived between Nancy's widowed mother and the Hamilton family where sister Minda Price and children lived, followed by more relatives....Miles Price and John Whitley, etc.
5/31/1864 N Okaw Twp, Coles Co, IL. Daniel gave estray notice for a bay horse. Wm Hendricks was the Justice.
12/20/1865 Same place, another estray notice, this time for a steer with Jesse Ellis as the Justice.
7/1870 PO Hartville, Wright Co, MO. Having moved before the next census, he was 51, a farmer with property valued at $300/300. Children were Joseph, 22, farmer; Louisa Jane, 19, school girl; John, 17, school boy; Amanda, 8, Marinda, 6, Elisha, 3, and Nancy E, 1
6/10/1880 Van Buren Twp, Wright Co, MO was where the census taker found the family and recorded Daniel, 63, a farmer with Nancy, 52, Louisa, 24, Arminda, 17, Elisha, 12, and Nancy C, 9. Next door was Josiah Hoots, 30, followed by John Hoots, 23, sons.
