This Indenture made the Sixth day of August one thosand seven hundred and ninety eight; Between Mace Pickett and Sarah his Wife of County of Orange of one part and Honorias Powell of County aforesd of other part; Witnesseth that Mace Pickett in consideration of sum of Two hundred and seventy pounds hath and by these presents doth bargain and sell unto Honorias Powell his heirs a certain parcel of land containing One hundred and forty one and a half acres lying in Orange County and bounded Beginning at a Poplar on South side of a Branch corner to Benja. Powell, thence down the meanders of the Branch South seven degrees West forty six poles, thence South fifteen degrees East twenty four ples, thence South thirty seven degrees West twenty six poles, thence due South sixteen poles, thence South forty four degrees East three poles to a Poplar and Maple on said Branch, corner to Wm. Eaton, thence with sd. line North eighty degrees East sixty four poles to a Chesnut and red Oak, corner to sd. Eaton, and Benja. J. Powell, thence North nine degrees East thirty two poles to three Chesnuts Oaks and white Oak corner to sd. Powell, thence due East twenty poles to two white oaks on a Hill side, thence North eighty five degrees East sixty one poles to two Locusts on a drane, thence North twenty nine degrees East fifty six poles to a white and Chesnut Oak, corner to Ben. J. Powell and John Miller, thence with Miller's line North seventy four degrees West twenty poles, thence North forty eight degrees West thirty six poles thence North thirty degrees West fifty poles, thence North forty three degrees West fourteen poles, thence North seventy six degrees West thirty four poles, thence North forty two degrees West seventy six poles, thence North seven degrees East twenty poles to a large white Oak and Gum, corner to sd. Miller and Wm. L. Powell, thence with sd. line South eighty two degrees West eighteeen poles to two Gums, corner to Benja. Powell, thence with Powell's line South thirteen degrees West twelve poles to two white Oaks, thence South thirty degrees West forty poles to a red Oak, thence South twenty degrees West thirty six poles to the beginning; To have and to hold the parcel of land . . .unto Honorias Powell. . .In Witness whereof the parties have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year above written
