1849 Shelby Co, IN, was his residence when daughter, Jane, married. The date of their move there is unknown.
1850 Van Buren Twp, Shelby Co, IN was still his residence by census time. He and Amanda had 5 children. Benjamin was 42, Amanda was 42, and the children were: Jonathan, 16; Malinda, 10; James, 9; Grant G, 5; and Frances E, 1.
1855 Cumberland Co, IL. In the state census, there were in his household: 2 males under 10, 4 males 10-20, 2 males 20-30, and 1 male 40-55, 1 female 10-20, 1 female 20-30, and 1 female 40-50. Son, Zach, lived next door and brother, Jonathan lived farther down. 2 doors down the other way was the Jacob Parker family, soon-to-be in-laws of daughter Malinda.
7/18/1860 Greenup, Cumberland Co, IL. Still at the same address, the census taker recorded him with his second wife. He was a 50 year old Christian minister with property = $6150/300. Nancy was 32 and children in the house were James, 17, and Grant, 16, Manda, 2, and Martha, 1. A Manerva Crimpking, 9, was living with them, possibly a step-daughter? Son, Zach, still lived nearby.
1865 The state census found him and Nancy at the same residence with 2 males and 4 females: 1 male under 10 (Gabriel), 2 females under 10 (Martha and Sarah), 1 female 10-20 (Manda), 1 female 30-40 (Nancy), and 1 male at 50-60 (himself).
1870 Same address. He was 60 years old with a 30 year old wife and 5 children: Martha M, 10, Gabral L, 8, Sarah, 6, Joseph A, 4, and Rosilla, 1 mo. Manda was missing.
1880 Crooked Creek Twp, Jasper Co, IL. The family had moved and that census taker recorded his birth place as KY, the only one to do so. Benjamin was then 65 years old, Nancy was 54. Joseph, 15, was the only child still at home. Next door was daughter Martha and Oliver Tobit's family.
In the 1910 census, Malinda's parents were both born in IN.
He officiated at the 3rd marriage of daugher, Malinda, that year.
It is thought Benjamin was buried at Aten Cem near Hidalgo, Jasper Co, IL with Amanda but that hasn't been proven.
