Ambrose was not listed among John's children in the early reunion notes, but because he received disinterested shares of John's estate, he is included here.

1853 Moultrie Co, IL, Ambrose signed the following:
"June the 4th 1853 Recievd of John Powell administrator of the Estate of Wm powell deseast mi disinterrested shear in full of the Estate of Said Deseast.
The handwriting and spelling on this receipt is identical to George's note and dated the same day. It was probably written by George and signed by Ambrose.
8/13/1860 Near Sullivan, Moultrie Co, IL. The census recorded the couple living alone, Ambrose at 25, Polly at 28. Ambrose was a farmer but he had only personal property worth $150.
6/1865 He petitioned for a road change (Sullivan-Mattoon)
6/1866 Again he petition for a road change (Bruce-Findlay).
12/28/1866 Moultrie Co, IL. Estray notice (he claimed a stray animal, probably a horse)
1870 Neither Ambrose or Polly have been found in the census.
