Frank was 37, a farmer, married 15 years to Mary, 33, who had birthed 6 children, all living: Victor, 14, Blanche, 12, Bernice, 10, Don, 7, Virgie, 3, and Sibl, 1. Also living with them was Mary's 77 year old widowed mother, Jane Ensley. Brother Ira lived down the road.
5/9/1910 Grant (misrecorded as Grand) Twp, Decatur Co, KS. Frank was employed as a general farmer that year according to the census. At age 47 he had been married 25 years to Mary M who had birthed 7 children, all living. The family included Bernice, 20, Donald J, 17, Vergie I, 13, Sibil, 10, and Edith, 8.
1/29/1920 Still there. The census recorded Frank at age 56, a farmer but it didn't say whether he owned the farm or rented. His wife, Mary M was 53 and their children were Sibal, 20, Edith, 18, and Victor, 34, whose occupation was (farm) renter. Also living there as boarder was 69 year old James F Ensley, retired farmer. Was he Mary's brother? Next door was half-sister Leah and Edgar Wickham and step-mother, Sarah, 76. Down the road in opposite directions were brothers, Elmer and Ira.
