"He lived at home until he was twenty-six years of age, during his boyhood attending the common schools. He began life for himself at farming, in Clay township, on one of his father's farms, where he remained twenty-two years, after which he purchased the place where he now resides, and on which he has made extensive improvements; his home is in the village. In politics he is a Republican, and he held the office of school director for some years....Mr. and Mrs. Wissler ar both members of the Old Mennonite Church. They enjoy the good-will and esteem of all who know them, and Mr. Wissler has always been regarded as one of the representative substantial citizens of the community."
