In 1822 came George Kisor.......where he entered 160 acres of land, and there died about 1848......About the same period came to this township the following: Peter Betzer, William Griffith, Michael Van Gundy, Jeptha Brown, Andrew Clingman, David Ford, the Crawfords and Starkeys, James Milligan, Jesse Ingerson, William Goodman, James and Lorin Pease, and Conrad Betz.
4/18/1829 Tiffin Twp, Wyandot Co. Michael bought land at S15 T1S R15E, amount and price was unspecified.
12/6/1830 Same place. He bought more land at the same coordinates. Joseph Van Gundy bought some that same date in the same township.
Following is a list of those who were assessed for the payment of taxes in the township of Sycamore in 1845, showing also the kinds of property owned, and (when real estate) upon what sections located:
Van Gundy, Michael, Sections 15, 16 and 17, 480 acres

Tues 9/23/1845 At a public sale of Upper Sandusky town lots, Michael bought Lot 297 for $22.00 and Lot 81 for $51.00.
6/1/1848 He bought more land at Upper Sandusky, coordinates of T2S R14E.
7/27/1850 Sycamore Twp, Wyandot Co, OH was his residence at census time. He was 62 years old and living with him were children, Mary, 22, Abraham, 21, George 18, and Susan E, 15. He was a farmer with $8000 worth of real estate, a large amount for the day. On the next page was the family of Martha Van Gundy, soon-to-be-widow of another Michael Van Gundy.
Some researchers say his birth year was 1791 but the date posted is from the 1850 census.
