1870 Newman Twp, Douglas Co, IL. At census time he was a farmer with property = $300/100. He was 66, Ann E was 52, and they had 2 sons still at home: Vincent, 15, and John, 10. Next door was son James and family and on the other side was probably brother Joshua, 55.
