10/1/1850 Union Twp, Huntingdon Co, PA was his address at census time. He was a 62 year old farmer with $2000 in real estate. Nancy was 58 and the household included: John, 30, Ann, 21, Reuben, 20, Mary, 17, Miriam, 16, and Humphrey, 36. All the boys were laborers. They lived between the families of son Darby and a Hannah Chilcote, 46.
9/13/1860 Same place. That year the census recorded Humphry at 73, still farming, Nancy was 71 and living with them were Mary Miller, 23, domestic, Myrom Chilcote, 23, Lonny Miller, 5, Darby Miller, 3, Calvin Chilcote, 4, Reuben, 26, Humphry, 30, and John 29. The older boys were laborers. Two doors down was son Thomas.
7/19/1870 Still there, By the next census Humphrey, 83, was still farming but apparently had divided up the farm as his land was valued at only $750. He had no personal property . Nancy ws recorded at 80. Living with the old couple were John, 50, farmer, Mary, 45, Miriam, 33, Miles, 10, Flora, 6, Cath. B, 3, and Calvin, 13. Son Thomas was three doors down the road.
Most researchers say Humphrey died in Harre's Valley, Cass Twp, Huntingdon Co but he lived in Union Twp so most likely died there.
