Early 1800s Jefferson Co, AL, per other family researchers. This is highly unlikely since he was already in IN by 1826.

1840 Scott Co, IN. At census time he lived 3 doors from newly widowed daughter Elizabeth Daily. Josiah was 40-50 years old and had living with him 1 male aged 10-15, 2 at 15-20, 1 female under 5, 1 at 5-10, 1 was 10-15, and 1 also 40-50, probably his wife.
8/7/1850 Vienna Twp, Scott Co, IN. Josiah was listed by the census taker at age 57, Polly was 55 and they had 2 children in the house, James, 30, and Eliza C, 14. Josiah was a farmer with real estate valued at $1000. Next door was son Josiah and family.
Another descendant said the 1850 census taker recorded Nancy and Josiah Daily, children of John and Betsy Maguire Daily, as living with Josiah in New Albany, Floyd Co, IN but in view of the previous item, that could not be correct.
1860 Vienna Twp, Scott Co, IN, was still his residence at the next census. He was 67, Mary, 64. Granddaughter Martha J McGuire, 12, was counted with them. Son Josiah lived in the same area.
Aft 1860 Coles Co, IL. He apparently moved to be nearer his daughters in his old age.
His birth and death dates don't agree if he was 70 yrs, 5 mo, and 4 d old at death. Which is incorrect?
