-16-1783 Jefferson Co, KY. Richard received a 1000 acre land grant for his participation in the Revolutionary War.
Nelson Co, KY. The date of his arrival there is unknown but he showed up for the first time on the county Tithables List "within the Bounds of Capt McDonals & Capt McFauls Companies." His tax bill was 3 tithes. Living nearby were James "McMachen" and the Berry families....William, Enoch, and George.
He was not listed on the county's tithable list that year. His whereabouts are unknown or maybe the tax commissioner just missed him.
Probably the same residence. His tax was based on 250 acres, 5 horses and 17 cattle. There were 2 males over 21 at his house. Nearby was son John and another John next door who was more likely James.
His estate had decreased some, paying taxes on 200 acres, 3 horses and 16 cattle. Apparently some of the children had moved in with him because there were then 2 males ages 16-21 there.
