6/16/1880 Buffalo Twp, Union Co, PA. The census recorded Ellis F, 51, engaged in farming. Wife Margaret L was 42 and their 3 children were Ward L, 19, Benj S, 13, and Clyde E, 2. Lillis Baker, 14, servant, also lived there. Three doors down was Uncle Adam.
6/20/1900 Still there. That year he was listed in the census at age 71, married 45 years to Margaret, 64, who had given birth to 3 children, 2 of whom still survived. Living with them were son Clyde E, 22, and daughter Maude Shriner, 14 (was she adopted?). Ellis was a farmer. Two doors down was brother John.
4/16/1910 Market St, Lewisburg boro, Union Co, PA. By the next census Ellis had retired from farming and the old couple had moved to town. Ellis was 80, Margaret was 70, and they had been married 54 years with 2 of their 3 children still living. (What happened to Maude?)
