On 4/1741 Catherine was paid 75 pounds of tobacco for 3 days attendance in a court case, an unusal occurance for a woman of that day.
The will book said Catherine was a widow of Spotsylvania Co. d. Apr. 14, 1777.
Her will, probated 1778, was witnessed by O. Towles, Mary Towles, and Beverley Winslow. Executors were sons Harry and Robert Stubblefield; and Oliver Towles.
It mentioned sons George, Harry and Beverley Stubblefield but if Beverly should died Robert was to have his share (Beverly must have been sickly at the time); granddaughter Catherine Stubblefield, daughter of Robert Stubblefield; granddaughters Susanna, the daughter of George, and Catherine the daughter of Robert Stubblefield.
