Van Gundy Family Tree

Notes for Michael WORKMAN

He lived with his parents until his marriage in 1851 when he began farming for himself. In 1855 he sold his property and stock with the intention of going to Kansas, but instead bought eighty acres in Prairieton Township, Christian County ( TS 13 N R1E). By 1868 his farm included 660 acres in Sections 4, 5, 8, and 9. In politics he was a member of the old Whig Party and later a Democrat.
