5/4/1910 1st St, Driftwood Twp, Woods Co, OK. The census taker listed R P, 27, married 2 years to Lizabeth, 21, who had birthed 1 child, little daughter Helen, 1 yr 7 mo. Raleigh's occupation is undecipherable. There were several other Van Gundy families in the county but none in their township.
9/12/1918 Capron, Woods Co, OK was his address when he registered for the draft. He was 34 years old, verified his birth date and listed wife Elizabeth as his nearest relative. His occupation was laborer at Mrty Lumber Co of Capron. The registrar described his as medium height, medium build, with gray eyes and brown hair.
1/26/1920 Same place. At census time Raleigh P was 35 years old, married to Elizabeth R, 30, with 4 children: Rowena H, 11, Raleigh T, 8, Ruth I, 4 yr 1 mo, and Dorsey W, 2 yr 3 mo. Raleigh's occupationn was manager of a lumber yard.
4/14/1930 Dist 15, Wild Cat, Elk Co, KS. The census recorded Raleigh P, 45, a manager of a lumber yard, and married for the first time at age 24. Wife Elizabeth, 41, was only 19 when she married. Children in the family were Ted, 19, Ruth, 14, Dorsey, 12, Alice Kathryn, 6, and Richard, 4 yrs 2 mo. They rented their house, valued at $20.
Buried with Raleigh and Elizabeth is grandson Realeigh Reeves Van Gundy, son of Ted and Gertrude.
