. .do give grant and confirm unto Elias Powell now of the county of Culpeper a certain Tract of Waste and ungranted Land in the said County on the Head of the South Branch of Stanton River, and bounded as by a Survey thereof made by Mr. George Hume as followeth. Beginning at one Wild cherry Tree and three chesnut trees on the Side of a Mountain nigh the Head of the said Branch of Stanton River and running thence N35W120 Poles to two white oaks and one Chesnut Tree on the Side of a Mountain, thence S55W240 Poles to three Spanish Oaks thence S35E162 Poles to three Chesnut Trees in Isaac Smith's Line thence N60E110 Poles to one Wild Cherry Tree, a Maple & white oak on the South Branch of Stanton River, thence up the Several Meanders of the said river ------------------- E62 Poles, N55E20 Poles, S70E36 Poles N6?E14 Poles to the Beginning containing two hundred and twenty four acres of land. . . under my hand and Seal Dated this Fifteenth Day of June. . . one thousand Seven hundred and Forty Nine.
