9/23/1850 Greesy Creek Twp, Coles Co, IL. At census time the family lived in the same neighborhood as the Collins families. Curtis B was 28 but no occupation or property was listed. Fanny L was 21 and their 3 children were Mary, 5, Sarah, 3, and Alace J, 7 months. Two doors down was Watson Collins followed by Aaron Collins.
9/18/1860 PO Marietta, Lee Twp, Fulton Co, IL. Having moved before the next census Wilson was 38, born OH as was wife Mary, 30, and their first 2 children, Mary, 15, and Jane 13. The rest of the children, all born in IL, were Thomas, 11, John 9, Eliza, 7, and Douglas, 1. Also living there was John Collins, 60, born PA, laborer. (Was he Fanny's father rather than Adam?) Curtis was a farmer with $800 in real estate, no personal property valuation listed.
Curtis served in the Civil War 72nd inf., Co. I.
Following Fannie's death, Curtis remarried Francis C. Walters.
The 1860 census says he was born in OH but descendants say KY.
