Notes for Mark David FITT

Residences & events in Mark's life:

Mattoon, Coles Co, IL. As an extremely tall young man, Mark became

quite a basketball star. He was the Charleston Holiday Tournament

most valuable player during the 77-78 season, and also named to the

Big 12 all-conference team. He received various other awards

including all-area and all-state honorable mention. Following his

high school career, he went to Lakeland College and was named to

all-state his sophomore year.

Alaska He received a scholarship for the Univ of Alaska on his sports

ability and it was there that he picked up the nickname "the barge."

It was also there he was named first-team Great North Conference.

Kenai, Alaska He liked Alaska so much he stayed on after college and

has no plans to ever return to the lower states to live.

1996 Mattoon, IL. He was inducted into the Mattoon Alumni Athlete's

Hall of Fame.
