He kept a stock ofabout $4,000 in the store and in connection with that, also operated aharness business. 1900 Bourbon Twp, Douglas Co, IL. In the census, he was a graindealer. Sons, Sylvan and Otis, were still at home. 1907 Tuscola, Douglas Co, IL 1915 461 E Condit St, Decatur, Macon Co, IL, was their address whengrandson, Hugh, married. Frank was a grain dealer with offices in theGushard and Wait buildings. On source said he carried on businessthere for 15 years, buying grain in Arthur, Fairbanks, Cadwell, andTuscola. Prior to moving to Hammond, they were given a surprise farewell partyat the home of son, Otis, by the Atwood Crochet Club of which Leonawas a member. "The evening was pleasantly spent in conversation andmusic. Pumpkin pie, sandwiches and coffee were served. It is uncertain if Frankmoved into the nursing home at the same time as Leona or a littlelater. At any rate, he too was a resident there. 1931 He attended the Powell reunion for the last time. |
