Peter filed a petition for divorce on 2/7/1855 stating he had been aresident of Pickaway Co
for more than one year and that on 1/15/1827he married Martha Jester and that they lived together
as man and wifeuntil about 4/10/1850 when he abandoned her for just cause. "Shehaving been
guilty of gross negligence and adultery and that she hasbeen guilty of adultery for three years
and more by cohabiting andcommitting adultery, proof of which is that she has had three childrensince
their separation and that she lives in Jackson Township with oneJoseph Tipton. The petitioner
further states that she also committedadultery with one Jonathan madden about the 10th day
of March 1852." There was no mention of any children between them. |
