Notes for John Sr VAN GUNDY

General Note
Residences & events in his life:

1763 Earl Twp, Lancaster Co, PA. Upon the death of his parents, heand wife, Anna, petitioned the court to sell their land and divide theproceeds. See note on his father for details.

1768 John's land was used as a marker, along with that of John Davisand Zaccheus Davis, to describe property involved in a land transfer.

1779 & 1780 Earl Twp, Lancaster Co, PA. At tax time he was the only"Gundy" in the county.

1790 Lancaster Co, PA. Living with John at census time were 3females.

1800 John was still the only Gundy in the county, it seems he was theonly sibling to stay behind while the others moved west.

Marriage Note
They were married before his parents died.

Death Note
John must have had a sizable estate to delay proving of the will until7/24/1819. In the will he mentioned his wife, but omitted her name,child, Barbara, wife of John Wenger, and grandchildren, Elizabeth andSusanna Wenger. Samule Martin, Jr was Executor.
