Notes for Francis Marion "Frank" Gipson

General Note
Some documents record his name as Francis, others say Franklin.

Residences & events in his life:

1900 Crooked Creek Twp, Jasper Co, IL, where he was listed in thecensus as a farmer with his wife and 3 teenage children. Daughter,Amanda, was not at home. Next door was Wm & Allie Rice? Cousins, perhaps?

1933 Hidalgo, Jasper Co, IL. His obituary states he had lived therehis whole life.

Marriage Note
This was Hattie's third marriage and a lot of misinformation surroundsthe date of this marriage. The date posted is recorded in the marriagerecords of Clark Co, IL. However, the Illinois marriage index has9/13/1879 in Jasper Co, IL. Other sources recorded it as 9/15/1880 andthe 1900 census recorded their length of marriage as 20 years, theiroldest child being 19. According to Frank's obituary they married in1870 but Frank would have been 11 years old at that time.

If they married in 1886 then the first 3 children must have eitherbeen his from a prior marriage or he adopted his step-children,changing their names to his.

Also in the Illinois marriage index is F Marion Gipson who marriedEmma Reed (Sellars) on 8/11/1900 in Edgar Co, IL.

We tread along life's way.

In paths of light at last we'll walk,

And live with Him for aye."
