1858 Atchison Co, MO

1861 Atchison Co, MO He bought a mill which had been in operation onthe Big Tarkio Creek for several years. Two or three years laterVanGundy & Co erected a new water power flour mill near the old millat a cost of $15,000, then added a saw mill in 1866.

8/1874 The Irish Grove Lodge was organized with John and brother,Samuel, among the first officers, both serving for 4 of the next 7years. Alexander, was eventually also elected to a post. John andSamuel also built the frame building, where the lodge met on thesecond floor, at a cost of $3000.
