At census time he was living with cousin,Enoch Purvis, as a farm laborer. 7/25/1861 He joined Civil War efforts by enlisting in Co B 75h ILInf, serving in the TN fighting, including the Battle of Shiloh. 12/3/1862 St Louis, MO. He was discharged by a surgeon'scertificate. Palmyra, Macoupin Co, IL. He farmed there as well as carpenter work. Abt 1882 Granite Falls, Yellow Medicine Co, MN, where he died. |
