7/22/1814 - 8/17/1814 He was a Pvt in Capt Thornton's Co of VAMilitia during the British invasion of the Chesapeake during the Warof 1812.

1830 Stafford Co, VA, where he also raised tobacco.

His gravestone says: "Sacred to the memory of Goerge Purvis Whodeparted this life February the 9th in the 50th year of his age."

Burial Note
George, his wife, Elizabeth, and daughter, Elizabeth, are all buriedin a corner of a graveyard overgrown with briars and surrounded by aforest located about 12 miles south of Fredericksburg and about 1/4mile east of the RF&P railroad. Most of the others buried there areBullocks. The old house spot nearby was known as Parmount.
