He served as executor for four estates, two of which were his ownparents. Residences & events: Abt 1814 Clinton Twp, Franklin Co, OH. His stay there was only fouryears according to the county history. 1817 Hamilton Twp, Franklin Co, OH. He bought the farm thateventually passed to son, Harvey. 1825 Guernsey Co, OH. Robert was listed on the tax roll as anon-resident. 1830 Hamilton Twp, Franklin Co, OH. The census taker recorded Robertas a farmer at age 40-50, wife also 40-50, and 8 children. 1835 - 1838 He served as a county commissioner. 1840 Apparently Abigail was not at home when the census taker came asonly Robert and 6 children were recorded there at the time. 1850 By then, all their own children were gone but one of Abigail'srelatives, Wm H McIntyre, 12, was living with them. 1860 The census taker found Robert and Abigail with property = $30,000/2000. Wm McIntyre at 22 was still there and an ElizabethSpangler, 21 year old servant, was also there. |

Robert will was dated 3/31/1858 and it was admitted to probate4/28/1862. It stated: "In the name of the benevolent father of all good - I Robert Lisle ofthe County of Franklin and State of Ohio being of poor health but ofsound mind and memory and understanding thanks be to Almight God forthe same do make, publish and declare this my Last Will and Testamentin manner and form following, that is to say - 1st, it is my will that my funeral expenses and all just debts befully paid. 2nd, I give devise and bequeath to my loving wife Abigail all the farmon which we now reside that lies on the north side of the county road,and one horse and buggy and harness, one cow, and household andkitchen furniture that she may see fit to select. 3rd, I will unto my eldest son John Lisle my part of the farm that heand I bought in partnership of William Lisle provided he is to pay tohis brother Samuel Lisle's heir Jeremiah lisle two hundred dollarswhen he shall have arrived at twenty one years of age. 4th, I will to my grandson Jeremiah Lisle the south part of my farm inClinton Township, Franklin County commencing at a large white elm treeon the west bank of Whetstone near where the branch that comesthrought the farm intersects the creek, running thence to a stone inthe road at the east end of the fence, thence west to the middle ofthe west line of said farm, And the south half of a lot of land beingwest and adjoining Daniel Eakins land the land lot to be divided equalby running a line east and west. 5th I will to my son Eli McIntire Lisle the north part of both thelast above described tracts of land. 6th, I will to my eldest daughter Elizabeth the money she received forwhich I hold the receipt. 7th, I will to my second daughter Rachel the east half of lot no 479in the City of Columbus, Ohio. Also the money the said Rachel hasreceived of me. 8th I will to William H McIntire the south east quarter of section 35in township three south of range 3 East in the district of landsubject to sale in Lima, Ohio. 9th, I will to my youngest son Harvey lisle the farm that I now liveon subject to and encumbered by his mother's dower to have and to holdthe same during his life then to go to his heirs. 10th, I will that the residue of my real estate and personal propertybe sold and converted into money and equally divided amongst my heirs,provided my wife Abigail is to receive one third of all money andnotes at my decease, real estate not to be sold short of five yearsfrom my decease. Lastly, I hereby constitute and appoint my eldest son John to be myexecutor of this my Last Will and Testament revoking and annulling allformer wills by me made and ratifying and confirming this and no ohterto be my last will and testament.
