1818 White Co, IL. In the state's first census, John was probablyliving with one of the "Wooley" families amid the Berrys and Shipleys.

1820 Fox River Twp, White Co, IL, where the census taker found himwith a new family. There were besides himself 5 other members in thehouse....Elizabeth and 4 step-children. Next door was Henry Ooley and3 doors down were his ex-in-laws, the Shipleys. Farther down on theother side were Enoch and Joel Berry.

1818 White Co, IL. At the state's first census there were 2 Wooley(Ooley?) families. In the same neighborhood was Enoch Berry, JamesShipley (likely the family of his first wife) and Alexander Mahan(relationship yet unestablished but could be a McMahan). Also livingin the same county was another Enoch Berry.

Sangamon Co, IL. He probably followed the Berry families but theexact date is unknown.

10/27/1827 Sangamon Co, IL. He was taxed $3.20 for 80 acres at W1/2NW 34 of T15 R5 patented by Ezekial Drennen.

12/28/1827 He paid more tax:

$1.20 for 80 acres at W1/2 SW 35 of T15 R5 originally patented byJohn Fowler.

1.60 for 80 acres at W1/2 SW 26 of T15 R5 patented by John MCurtis

1830 Sangamon Co, IL. He was still there by census along with aThomas Ooley.

5/2/1835 Sangamon Co, IL. John and William Purvis were among thenames mentioned in the file on the estate of Barlet Haley who diedintestate. Their relationship to deceased and reason for being namednot stated but they were probably purchasers at the estate sale.

1840 Sangamon Co, IL. Again his family was counted there. Living inthe same county was

Henry Ooley but no Thomas.

1850 There was a John Ooley in Green Co MO and one in Montgomery Co,AR, both states of Berry migrations but it is unknown which, ifeither, if this John. If Elizabeth died in IA in 1847, he most likelywould have been there.

9/1/1852 From the Wisconsisn Land records is an item with the namesof John Ooley and Elihu H Noyes, both local Moultrie/Coles Co, IL.names, in the remarks column. It was a cash sale of 40 acres patentedby John H Harper and located at S14 T4N R4E.

1860 A John J Ooley was still in Green Co, MO.

Iowa Co, WI, where he died. The date of his arrival is unknown.
