One descendant said Enoch and Nancy had only the first 4 childrenlisted.

He was a farmer.

1820s Springfield, Sangamon Co, IL. As a youngster, he moved with hismother and step-father's family.

1850 Sangamon Co, IL. Listed as E.C. in the census, the Berry familywas scattered about the county but none were near him.

Bef 1854 Moultrie Co, IL. The exact date of his move is unknown orperhaps county lines shifted, leaving him in the new county.

1854-1856 He served as Sheriff of Moultrie Co.

1856 E Nelson Twp, Moultrie Co, IL. He was listed among the landowners of the cemetery on the Otto farm, which has since becomefarmland. Apparently he intended to be buried there.

1860 Sullivan, Moultrie Co, IL. At census time he was the only Berryin the county. He was listed as a farmer with property = $1440/800, 7children and the second wife. Living 8 doors down was nephew, EphraimPurvis.

St Claire Co, MO, where he served as Justice of the Peace and laterdied.

He was born a few months after his father died.
