He is believed to the be father of the Texas Berrys. He served as surety for at least 2 of his childrens' marriages. Residences & events: 1787 Nelson Co, KY, where William and brothers, John and Enoch, werelisted in tax records. Being the older brother apparently led to moreassets to be taxed with him owing on 2 tithables. 11/10/1789 William was Surety for the marriage between John Allen andElizabeth Boswell. 1792 At tax time he was the only male in the family over 21 and had150 acres, 4 horses and 18 cattle. Brothers, Enoch and George livedin the same district. 1793 He paid taxes on the same acreage and livestock. He was alsothe only male still over 21 in the house. |
