Champaign Co, IL, Martha bought land in her own name:

6/26/1833 She bought 40 acres @ $1.25/acre for a total of $50.

8/22/1834 She bought another 40 acres, same price.

1850 Shelby Co, IL. She was a widow and head of the household withGillan Hannas, 65, living with her.

Her mother verified Sarah's age was 19 at the time of her wedding.
There is a death date discrepancy between her gravestone with10/15/1852 and court records with 11/6/1853.

Sarah's will was filed 11/1854. John Warren was administrator andheirs mentioned were: Gilly Jane, Moses, and minor children,Elizabeth, Aaron, and Sarah, who requested William Mears remain astheir guardian.

Securities were posted by Jesse A. Spurgeon, Gilly's husband.

Claims against the estate were paid to Gilly Jane and Moses.

Daughter, Louisa, was not mentioned even though she did not die until1855.
