1860 Lincoln, Logan Co, IL. At census time, George was countedthere, possibly working or checking out the area, or perhaps justvisiting with sister, Mary Ann Smallwood and her family who had movedthere 5 years prior. His wife, Ada, was listed as head of the house
at home at Exeter P.O., Scott Co, next door to Adam Van Gundy.
He was deceased by the time a sketch was written about the family ofsister, Nancy Merris.
