Notes for Margaret Deland COLLINS

Margaret could not read or write by 1870.

She vouched that her sister, Mary, was married to John Arthur and
never divorced when Mary applied for a Widow's Pension. Margaret
lived in Rardin, Coles Co, IL, at the time.
Age discrepancy: She said she was 39 in 1896 when she vouched forsister, Mary Arthur's, marriage. That would make her born in 1857.And the 1900 census taker recorded her at 50 years old, being born3/1850!
