Notes for Eva Dorothea WHITLEY

Eva was instrumental in starting the Sunday School which developedinto the First General Baptist Church of Mattoon. She attained thehighest degree of Religious Education for Laymen in that denominationand taught Sunday School classes and Leadership Training classes aswell as serving in various other capacities.

She also wrote poetry.
Schilling Funeral Home was in charges of funeral services which wereheld at the General Baptist Church with Rev Doran Gregory and RevJames Bunyard.
