1820 Campbell Co, KY. He was living in the neighboring county to therest of the Ginn family who were in Bracken.

Shelby Co, IL. He served on the first petit jury along with JohnPurvis.

1860 Sullivan Twp, Moultrie Co, IL. In the census, John was countedamong the county's more fortunate men with property = $12,800/4600.His sister, Jane, was living with the family, next door was MargaretMcFarland, who was probably their daughter.

1869 N Okaw Twp, Coles Co, IL. He owned a farm of 255.22 acres thereaccording to the county plat map. By the time the next map waspublished in 1893 it was in the possession of son, Robert.
