The story of Jacob's move to American was recorded in the history ofLancaster Co, PA: "Jacob Wissler, the first member of this branch ofthe Wissler family in America, emigrated from Switzerland and sailedwith his wife, Magdalena, from Rotterdam for Philadelphia about 1720.One the voyage, together with other able-bodied men on the vessel, hewas impressed into the naval service by a man-of-war. His wifecontinued the journey to Philadelphia, where he joined her on theexpiration of his term of service. She was employed by a farmer ofGermantown, and he also took service with a farmer of that locality,for a time, after which they moved up the county and settled onBrandywine Creek, in Chester county, where they passed the remainderof their lives."

1750 Conestoga Twp, Lancaster Co, PA. He and Rudolph were the onlyWisslers having property in this twp according to the tax list. Henrywas in Donegal and Abraham was in Cocalico.

1765 Philadelphia, PA. Jacob arrived in America, probably from atrip back home.
His estate was settled in 1789.
